The City of El Monte After School Youth Sports Program is now taking registration for the upcoming Spring season leagues. The Spring season includes boys' Soccer as well as girls' Basketball leagues. Organized Recreation Leagues are offered at selected school sites throughout the city. The program is centered around but not restricted to, seasonal team and individual sports. Our philosophy of "Athletes first, Winning second" is carried through the training of City Recreation Staff and in our "No cut" program that teaches kids rules, skills, fundamentals and strategies. Care is given to teach kids how to concentrate and focus on things that they can control and how to develop a proper attitude toward practice and competition. Emotionally, we stress positive values and principles from which they develop confidence, emotional self control and respect for others. Waivers will be available at the designated sites beginning the week of Monday, March 3, 2009. Games will be played the week of March 21, 2009.
